Full submissions may be bilingual in any language (non-English submissions must include an English translation). Click the button below to submit your abstract (max 500 words) and short bio (max 500 words) by April 22, 2019, 11.59 pm PST via the google form.* Please indicate the title of the paper and the track in which it fits, #1-4. Digital images should be at least 200 dpi and mounted onto an 8.5” x 11” pdf file, to be uploaded in the google form (the file cannot exceed 10MB). In the case of video submissions, the work must be sent via an internet link.

You can associate your current email address (e.g., firstname.lastname@example.org) with a Google account and then share files with it. Please allocate the time needed to complete this activity before the deadline.
Accepted authors will be notified by June 28, 2019. The selected papers should be submitted by August 31, 2019 (including visual material, endnotes, and permissions for illustrations) to undergo a double-blinded peer-review process. Paper submission should be 1,000-1,500 words for creative reflections and photo-essays (including endnotes) and 5,000-8,000 words for research papers (including endnotes).
Selected works will be part of a special publication sponsored by the Global Urban Humanities Initiatives at UC Berkeley (online and on-demand print edition) as well as being archived in and distributed through eScholarship. The editors will consider proposing a full version of the manuscript to high-quality publishers for printed publication.
